Firm History
Polaris Consulting Engineers, PC, was founded in April 2002 by the two principals, Michael L. Wilson, PE and Anthony J. Scalamandre, PE, CEA. The principals and staff of Polaris have worked together to provide consulting engineering services in the HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical fields, particularly becoming experts for the commercial and retail construction industry. Polaris has served as the lead consulting engineer for two retailers that have been listed in the Chain Store Age 100, an industry report of revenues and projections for the country’s top retailers, and has completed projects for several others also listed in this elite group.
Because of energy cost increases and deregulation, emphasis has been placed on energy conservation, renewable energy opportunities, and bulk purchasing where energy conservation measures make fiscal sense or can be leveraged. With Anthony’s credentials as a Certified Energy Auditor, we have grown the energy services side of the business as well as integrating his knowledge gained into our design services. Even first cost conscious Owners have expressed interest and even embraced these concepts, including developers and national retailers.
In addition, our staff has provided these services for other construction markets such as telecommunications, health care, education, supermarkets, multi-tenant housing and others. We have earned a good reputation with our clients for our technical knowledge and attention to customer service. The firm has continued to receive new work and new clients as a result of referrals from their existing, satisfied clients.
